Siberian orpheus: On the 60th anniversary of the birth Of Dmitry Hvorostovsky
Abstract
On October 16, 2022, the entire musical world celebrated the 60th anniversary of the birth of the “golden Russian baritone”, the famous native of the Krasnoyarsk land Dmitry Hvorostovsky, whose departure is still impossible to accept. He was applauded by the best opera houses of all continents. His magical voice has conquered and continues to conquer millions of listeners from different countries.
Today, everything connected with the name of Dmitry Alexandrovich seems to be particularly important and valuable. In memory of the “Siberian Orpheus” and in honor of the 45th anniversary of the Siberian State Academy of Arts, now bearing the name of its illustrious graduate Dmitry Hvorostovsky, we publish in this issue of the journal a mini-series of materials. This materials of the city periodicals of the 1990s – early 2000s are difficult for the public to access.
The articles belong to the pen of musicologist, authoritative critic E. A. Vanyukova, who was lucky enough to become a living witness of the professional formation and flourishing of the singer’s mighty talent, to see the “birth of a star”. One of the first Elvira Anatolyevna appeared on the pages of the Krasnoyarsk press as a biographer, devoted admirer and apologist of Dmitry Hvorostovsky.
