MARIA KHOLODOVA

Associate Professor at the Music History Department, Dmitri Hvorostovsky Siberian State Academy of Arts. She is the author of more than 100 scientific articles, 3 monographs, 8 tutorials, and study guides. Maria Kholodova began her scientific activities in 2005 at Krasnoyarsk Academy of Music and Theatre (now – Dmitri Hvorostovsky Siberian State Academy of Arts), where she took post-graduate course. Her scientific adviser was Doctor of Art Criticism, Professor Liudmila Vladimirovna Gavrilova. In 2014, Maria defended her thesis "G. I. Banshchikov's Music Theatre: Genre and Dramaturgic Features of Works Based on Plots by Russian Classic Authors," which became the first study in Russia of the composer’s creative activities. In 2016, the monograph "G. I. Banshchikov’s Music Theatre" was published.

Since 2007, Kholodova has been teaching at the Music History Department training the highest-level professionals in culture and education. She gives lectures within science and development projects and refresher courses, organizes workshops, and conducts career guidance activities at Siberian creative colleges ensuring continuity of vocational education. More than 20 graduate qualification papers were defended under Maria’s scientific supervision. Her students have become Regional Personal Prize holders and award winners at All–Russian and International scientific competitions. They also have obtained grant support at contests organized by the Krasnoyarsk Regional Fund for Support of Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activities.

Maria Kholodova’s research interests are related to Russian and foreign music theatre as well as history and theory of music performing arts in the XIX–XXI centuries. She has presented her scientific findings at various conferences. Since 2016, Maria Vladimirovna has been exploring the cultural heritage of Siberia. Her works in this direction are represented by papers revealing aspects of Krasnoyarsk composers, singers, and conductors’ creative activities. There are also two published monographs: "Oh, Music! Thank you": Pages of L. V. Marzoeva's Creative Biography" and "I serve Mr. Artist: Maestro Yuri Polomsky". Both are dedicated to the prominent figures of Krasnoyarsk, who have made a great contribution to the formation and development of the musical culture in Siberia in the late XX – early XXI centuries.

Maria Kholodova has won the Krasnoyarsk Mayor's Award and the State Governor's Prize "For High Achievements in Science". In addition, she has obtained grant support at competitions organized by the Krasnoyarsk Regional Fund for Support of Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activities and the Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation several times. Results of her successful work have been rewarded by numerous letters of gratitude.
