Three Creative Hypostases of Vasily Vavilov: Actor, Director, Teacher

Abstract

The article is devoted to the Russian actor and the Musical Theater Director, Professor of Solo Singing and Opera Division of the Dmitri Hvorostovsky Siberian State Academy of Arts, National Theater's Prize “Golden mask” Diploma winner, Honored Art Worker of Russia Vasily Arnoldovich Vavilov. The relevance of this research is based on the necessity to comprehend the life and career path of one of the most interesting Russian Musical Theater's figures. It is necessary to evaluate his contribution to the development of culture and art of the Krasnoyarsk region, identify the main events that contributed to the formation of his personality, on the eve of the upcoming anniversary of V. A. Vavilov. The study is based on encyclopedic publications, research on the theater and theater figures of the Krasnoyarsk region, publications of the Russian mass-media about the roles, performances of Vasily Vavilov and his students, as well as interviews with music critics, colleagues, alumni and loyal fans of Vasily Arnoldovich, to create his first complete biography. Most of the information, given here, is taken from personal conversations and is published for the first time in order to indicate the scale and originality of the creative personality of Vasily Vavilov.
