Author Guidelines

Papers are accepted year-round and published on a first-come basis. Manuscripts should be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief by e-mail holodova-maria@mail.ru  (with "ARTE" in the subject line). The following documents are attached to the article in separate files:

  1. Information about the author, contact details (first name, patronymic (if available), surname); full name of the organization; work or home address; phone number, e-mail address.
  2. The License agreement (a scanned copy) signed by the author (download the contract).

When submitting a manuscript, the author will be provided with a notification that the article has been received by the editorial office. It will be sent to the e-mail address specified by the authors within 1-2 days (the absence of the letter is a confirmation that the manuscript has not been received). The author can contact the editorial office (editor-in-chief) at any time for further information.

Rules for Authors

Manuscripts representing the results of independent research, reviews, and unique archival documents are accepted for publication. The article should be relevant, have novelty, reflect the problem statement, research approaches and tools, describe the results and findings, as well as meet technical requirements.

Requirements for manuscripts for publication in the Electronic Research Journal “ARTE”

The volume of the full manuscript text (including the abstract, keywords, illustrations and references) should contain 20,000 to 40,000 printed characters (with spaces). If, in the author’s opinion, the volume of the article exceeding the set limit is justified, the decision on publication is made by the editor-in-chief (editorial board) upon the reviewer’s recommendation.

Manuscript Text Format. The electronic version of the article should be submitted in Microsoft Word editor (in A4 format). The margins should be 2,5 cm (left, right, upper and lower); portrait orientation; font Times New Roman; width alignment, with page numbering. If a non-standard font is needed, the authors should provide a file of this font in the cover letter.

The manuscript structure should conform to the template (see the sample)

  1. UDC [Universal Decimal Classification]

It is placed in the upper left-hand corner of the page. To determine the UDC, you can use the online directory (https://teacode.com/online/udc/).

  1. The Title of the Article

The title is placed in the middle of the page in CAPITAL letters, in bold. The maximum length is 10-12 words. The title contains the main keywords; abbreviations and formulas cannot be used. It reflects the content of the article, the area and results of research, summarizes the study briefly and accurately, presents the uniqueness and attractiveness of the author's scientific work.

  1. The Authors of the Article

The data is placed in the middle of the page, in bold. When writing each of the authors, the initials are indicated first, followed by the surname.

  1. Affiliation

Details on primary place of employment, the postcode, city, and country are mentioned here. Please note that it is necessary to provide the official name of the institution (without abbreviations).

  1. Abstract and Keywords

The abstract is a brief, but at the same time the most informative content of a scientific publication. The volume should contain 100 to 250 words. The research background and objectives, methods, the results and main findings are summarized here. New and important aspects of the study are noted.

Keywords express the main meaning content of the article, serve as a guide for the reader and contribute to indexing an article in search systems. The recommended number of keywords is 5-10; the number of words within a key phrase is no more than 3.

  1. Information about sponsorship and gratitude

The names of grants or other types of financial and non-financial support provided to the authors (fund, commercial or government organization, private person, etc.) are shown here. It is not required to specify the amount of funding. The authors can also express their gratitude to the individuals and organizations that contributed to the publication, but they are not the authors of the article. The text is highlighted in italics.

  1. Data in English

The following are further details in English: title; authors (you can use the BSI transliteration standard (https://translit.ru/ru/bsi /); affiliation, abstract, keywords, sponsorship and gratitude. The information should completely repeat the Russian version in meaning and structure.

  1. Main Text of the Paper

The text of the article should include the following sections (please note that you do not need to write the following subheadings in the text):

  • introduction (the purpose and object of research; relevance and novelty; initial hypotheses, if they exist);
  • methodology (describing sequence of research, justifying the choice of methods used);
  • literature review (its purpose is to study and evaluate existing works on the subject; to make a critical review; to generalize the main points of view);
  • results (this is the central section that aims to prove a working hypothesis by analysis, synthesis and data clarification. If necessary, the results are confirmed by illustrations – tables, graphs, figures);
  • conclusions (a concise summary of the sections without repeating the wording. Conclusions can interpret the results based on combining their experience, basic knowledge and scientific resources, giving several possible explanations).
  1. Illustrations

The text of the manuscript may include sheet music examples/figures, photos, tables, and charts.

  • Figures / photos (no more than 10, a larger number should be agreed with the editor-in-chief) are sent to the editorial office along with the article in separate files with the jpg extension, the image resolution should be >300 dpi.
  • All illustrations are placed in the text of the article, with references to the figure/photo in parentheses (figure 1), (example 1). Tables/charts are also included in the text of the article, have names and numbers. The text should contain a reference (table 1), (chart 1).
  • The name of an illustration/table/chart should be written below, font size 10 pt: Example 1. Name / Figure 1. Name / Table 1. Name / Chart 1. Name.
  1. References
  • In references (list of literature used in the article), each source should be placed on a new line with the ordinal number;
  • All the works should be mentioned in alphabetical order. Foreign sources are indicated after the main list (if there are several sources, they are alphabetized);
  • The list of references may include only the sources used in the preparation of the article. All sources should be referenced in the text, the bibliographic reference should be given in square brackets in Arabic numerals [1, p. 1];
  • At least 5 sources should be mentioned in the list (including the last 5 years);
  • References in English should be placed after References in Russian. When transliterating, it is recommended to use the BSI standard (https://translit.ru/ru/bsi /). Please note that only the title of a separate edition should be transliterated, while the names of the constituent parts (chapters, articles) should be translated into English.
  1. Information about the Authors

Details about the authors should be given after the list of references in Russian and English. Information should include:

  • the author’s first name, patronymic (if available), surname;
  • scientific degree, academic rank, position and place of employment;
  • e-mail address (it will be published in the journal).

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The manuscripts are accepted if has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

  2. The materials should be prepared in a format OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or World Perfect.

  3. Internet links are provided as a complete URL. 

  4. Text should be typed with an interval of one and a half line spacing, font Times New Roman, 14 pt; to highlight the accents it is recommended to use italics rather than underlining (except Internet links). All images, graphics and tables are placed within the text according to the meaning of the particular part of text  (and not at the end of the document).

  5. Text should follow the stylistic and bibliography requirements as stated in  Regulations  located in the Part "About Us." 

  6. Please, remove the authors' names from the title of the article and other parts of the document to ensure the  anonymity of reviewing.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.

Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.

Specified when registering the names and addresses will be used solely for technical purposes of a contact with the Author or reviewers (editors) when preparing the article for publication. Private data will not be shared with other individuals and organizations.
